Riley Children’s Foundation

Riley Children’s Foundation, the fundraising arm of Riley Children’s Health, was preparing for the largest fundraising goal in its history. To help them rise to the challenge, the Foundation partnered with Blanchard creating a needs assessment that identified gaps in employee ownership and initiative—and in leaders’ ability to provide the right direction and support.

Together, they implemented SLII^® and Self Leadership through dedicated learning tracks for senior leaders, people leaders, and functional leaders, plus open sessions for individual contributors. The programs gave employees a practical way to identify development needs, ask for support, and adapt leadership behaviors to each situation.

The result is a shared leadership language that helps employees communicate more openly and leaders focus their time where it will have the greatest impact. According to Carlie Mueller, Director of People Strategy & Operations, Blanchard’s practical approach is helping teams work more productively and build greater psychological safety—and the Foundation plans to keep building on that progress.
