Elevate Team Effectiveness in Your Organization

Build high-performing teams that deliver stronger results together

When business results depend on how teams work together, individual development alone is not enough. Blanchard’s Team Effectiveness Practice helps organizations strengthen how teams work and perform together through a customized, consultative approach.

Are team dynamics holding your organization back?

Organizations rely on teams more than ever, but helping those teams work effectively has become more challenging. Teams are more fluid and complex, with frequent turnover, different generations, and locations. All of this can make it harder to stay aligned, coordinate work, and perform effectively. Team effectiveness is a growing priority, but organizations report both significant barriers to team performance and inconsistent approaches to team development.

Blanchard’s Team Effectiveness Practice helps organizations identify what is limiting a team’s performance and shape the right support for that team. Strengthened through the integration of Corentus, the practice brings together specialized expertise to help teams improve how they work together, make decisions, and deliver results.

The team works on how the team works

The Team Effectiveness Experience is a customized, consultative engagement designed to help teams improve how they work together around their most important business priorities.

How it works

1. Align

Our Teams Expert works with you and the team leader to define scope, goals, roles, and desired outcomes.

2. Assess

Assessments, interviews, and a Voice of the Team Summary surface the team’s highest-priority opportunities and the dynamics getting in the way.

3. Activate

The team works on how the team works. In a facilitated Activation Session, members tackle real business challenges and focus on three to four priority areas identified in discovery. Using targeted tools, facilitated dialogue, and in-the-moment coaching to build more effective ways of working together.

4. Accountability

Two to three months later, our experts reconnect with the team to assess progress, reinforce priority practices, and optionally remeasure results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Team effectiveness is a team’s ability to work together to achieve shared goals and deliver results. Effective teams have clarity around priorities and roles, make decisions efficiently, communicate openly, coordinate work, and hold one another accountable.
Improving team effectiveness starts with understanding what is helping or hindering the team’s performance. Assessment, facilitated dialogue, team coaching, and practical tools can help teams address specific challenges such as unclear priorities, decision making, communication, trust, and accountability.
Common signs include unclear goals or roles, ineffective meetings, slow or difficult decision making, communication breakdowns, lack of trust, inconsistent accountability, or difficulty working across functions. Teams may also benefit from support during periods of significant change, growth, or transition.
Team building often focuses on strengthening relationships and connection. Team effectiveness goes further by addressing how a team works together to accomplish its most important business priorities, including how members align, make decisions, communicate, coordinate, and execute.
Blanchard takes a customized, consultative approach. The Team Effectiveness Experience begins by aligning around the team’s goals and desired outcomes, assessing current team dynamics, and identifying priority areas for development. The team then works on real business challenges through facilitated dialogue, targeted tools, and in-the-moment coaching, followed by reinforcement and accountability.
The experience can support executive, leadership, cross-functional, and other intact teams whose success depends on working effectively together. It is particularly relevant when teams are navigating complexity, change, new priorities, or performance challenges.
